NLP eye accessing cues – a different approach

Eye

This exercise requires knowledge about NLP eye accessing and is another way to observe a client that differs a little from how eye accessing is usually taught.

Eye accessing cues are actually really easy to observe, well…that is….if you are in uptime and paying attention! I especially would recommend a new NLP Practitioner to this, in order to practice.

NLP eye accessing for strategies

Eye accessing cues are not only important on a superficial level as to understand how someone uses their brain. It is also the integral ingredient of doing a TOTE on someone, finding out what strategies a person uses. Either good or excellent strategies that we like to understand, in order to replicate. Or bad strategies, to help the client change these, in order to replace them with good strategies. To move forward and create new possibilities.

Combining different techniques taught inside an NLP training

Make sure that you are in a quiet, uninterrupted environment. With good daylight. Make sure you are directly facing opposite your client.

Visual

Ask your partner the following questions:

What do you imagine international travel to LOOK like 150 years from now?

What do you expect to LOOK like 10,20,30 years from now? Face, body composition, hairstyle, fashion?

What would you see once you reach goal X? Or stood on top of the Mt. Everest?

What would your family look like 10 years from now?

Auditory

Describe the SOUND of standing in front row of a Beatles concert in the 1960s?

Describe the SOUND of skiing?

Describe the SOUND of the moment you have reached your goal? Or stand on the top of the Mount Everest?

Describe the SOUND you’d hear inside an airplane 20 years from now?

Kinesthetic

What does it FEEL like to slide in a nice warm bath?

What does it FEEL like to go diving?

What does it FEEL like the moment you have reached your goal? Or stand on the top of the Mount Everest?

Self-talk

What do you SAY TO YOURSELF when you are about to be late for work?

What do you SAY TO YOURSELF when you are motivating yourself to reach your goals?

Conclusion

Recommendation: watch for eye accessing cues, when people are telling you about what happened in their life, what they saw, how it made them feel, or what they said to themselves.

This means you need to pay careful attention to:
1.    The words someone is using in their description, predicates! (As taught in NLP Practitioner)
2.    Paired with the eye accessing cues.

Good luck with another practice round eye accessing in a slight different way.
